You know when your really stressed out, your brain finds out really ridonkulous (yep! Not an error, that word is so much fun, to my weird brain) ways to make the lamest things funny?
Well, I’m there now. With my GRE less than a month away and my TOEFL less than 2 weeks away, my brain is working faster than my computer (my computer takes 2 days to open a page, checking my mail…eternity!).
I have started talking to my self, which is not something new. It is just more loud, and incoherent now. Especially when I’m making coffee. So, on a normal sunday morning (we work sundays through Fridays here), you might find me having deep conversations about coffee with my self. Which goes something like this:
‘Okay, take a deep breath…just coffee. See the water boiling, see those tiny bubbles. When they come up to the surface, the water is ready. Now where is the sugar. Remember we are on a diet (we being my mind and my body, we are 2 separate entities trying to live in harmony!). There you go, pour in just half a spoon, well a little more…. A little bit more…. Oh well, we will go on a diet tomorrow. New day, new plans!! :). Now add some coffee, stir stir stir… And done!’
And then the conversations get serious. We…err.. I talk about life.
‘Why are you drinking coffee, when you can learn 50 new words. I know you like your coffee time, but why cant you drink coffee and do some word cramming. Sounds like a plan huh? Get up! … Move it… Chop chop, c’mon now!’
Of course, I don’t move. I just sit there, drinking my coffee, watching life slip away….one sip at a time.
So, I called my friend Rudingus ( she christened herself Rudingus 3 hours ago, or maybe I did it. Her real name is in there ;)). She is going throught the same thing I’m going through, and the thing with us is, we tend to laugh like psychos over ridonkulous jokes. Jokes, which are probably so lame, they’ll make you cry first (and then you might laugh, after evaluating what a pathetic situation you are in).
We laughed for about 30 minutes over this ridonkulous (I’m on fire today!…happy high!) Conversatiin she had with her brother a few years ago.
Bro : Hey Rudingus (of course he didn’t call her that! Who names their kid Rudingus?!), I’m giving my CAT soon! Pray for me.
Rud : Really? Do you even know what CAT means?
Bro : Of course I do! MEEEEOWWW!!
And that’s it, we laughed for that… For THAT!!!
Seriously, a stressed brain (or two) along with lame jokes with a dash of crazy hormones is a powerful thing!
